So for my 3rd trip to Malaysia, we came for a Kuala Lumpur food tour. Chuchu and I decided to travel to Malaysia on a 4 day eating vacation to eat as much street food and local specialties as we could. With our limited amount of time on this trip, we ate non stop to sample all of the Kuala Lumpur food available. That being said, in 4 days, we barely scratched the surface of Malaysian food, there is so much more! We visited a few famous Chinese cuisine places, a few famous Malay cuisine places, and of course some amazing Indian cuisine as well. Below are the addresses for the Malaysian cuisine that we sampled in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 1) Chinese Indian Food (Fish Head Curry) - PUDU CHINESE INDIAN RICE @ RESTORAN SIN HIAP KEE 2) Nasi Campur and Ikan Bakar @ Gerai Pak Lang Ikan Bakar - Kampung Baru 3) Malaysian dessert street Cendol 4) Malaysian Nasi Lemak at Village Park 5) Banana Leaf Rice at Sri Paandi in Little India (Brickfields) 6) Nasi Dagang only open on the weekends at Nasi Dagang Warung Terengganu 6) Ooi Noodle House famous Pork Noodle 7), Jalan SS 15/4b, Ss 15, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia 8)Restoran Home Cooking @ Sungai Way, PJ - near the Indian temple at Sungai Way 9) Durian at SS2 Durian Wai’s Durian 10) Dry Bak Kut Teh AKA Rougucha @ Yap Chuan Bak Kut Teh, Puchong 11) Roti Canai at Nasi Kandar Pelita ABOUT THE FOOD RANGER ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My name is Trevor James and I'm a hungry traveler and Mandarin learner that's currently living in Chengdu, Szechuan, China, eating up as much delicious . Follow me on Insta: http://bit.ly/2c5ojch And subscribe to my channel here: http://bit.ly/2cCy2ub This Penis Soup video was filmed with the help from Tripvid, you should definitely check out their channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCctgbimR4_Vi9Y5PBiMIOvg This was a first for me, Penis Soup in Malaysia! In Penang, Malaysia, the food is the best in Malaysia. Malaysian Food is one of my favourites in Asia due to the diversity of Chinese, Indian, and Malay influence on all of the food, whether the local Malaysian street food in Kuala Lumpur and Penang street food. If you want to come to Penang to eat this mind blowing Malaysian cuisine, I suggest trying things other than this Penis soup. Malaysian food is famous all throughout the world, but most famous here in Penang. I really want to come back every year to Georgetown to eat and perhaps learn some Malaysian food recipes. In Pulau Pinang (Penang), I spent 3 weeks eating Penang food and afterwards I didn't want to leave. The food here is good enough for a lifetime. You can dine on Indian cuisine, Indian street food, Chinese, and Malay food every day and you will never get bored with the huge variety of food. If you come to Malaysia, you must eat in Penang and Kuala Lumpur, perhaps even take a Penang food tour or Kuala Lumur food tour from a local. The food hunt is a lot of fun here! Street Food Penang ( Georgetown), Street Food in Malaysia, PENANG STREET FOOD, Penang is a state in Malaysia located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, by the Strait of Malacca. Penang state is bordered by Kedah in the north and east, and Perak in the south. It is composed of two parts — Penang Island, where the seat of government is, and Seberang Perai (formerly Province Wellesley in English) on the Malay Peninsula. Highly urbanised and industrialised, Penang is one of the most developed and economically important states in the country, as well as a thriving tourist destination.[4][5][6] Penang has the third-highest Human Development Index in Malaysia, after the state of Selangor and the federal territory of Kuala Lumpur. Its heterogeneous population is highly diverse in ethnicity, culture, language and religion. A resident of Penang is colloquially known as Orang Pulau Pinang (in Malay), Penangite (in English), Penang Lang (in the local Penang Hokkien dialect) or a Penangkaran (In Tamil) Malaysian cuisine consists of cooking traditions and practices found in Malaysia, and reflects the multiethnic makeup of its population.[1] The vast majority of Malaysia's population can roughly be divided among three major ethnic groups: Malays, Chinese and Indians. The remainder consists of the indigenous peoples of Sabah and Sarawak in East Malaysia, the Orang Asli of Peninsular Malaysia, the Peranakan and Eurasian creole communities, as well as a significant number of foreign workers and expatriates. As a result of historical migrations, colonisation by foreign powers, and its geographical position within its wider home region, Malaysia's culinary style in the present day is primarily a melange of traditions from its Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indonesian and ethnic Bornean citizens, with heavy to light influences from Thai, Portuguese, Dutch, and British cuisines, to name a few. This resulted in a symphony of flavours, making Malaysian cuisine highly complex and diverse. Because Peninsular Malaysia shares a common history with Singapore, it is common to find versions of the same dish across both sides of the border regardless of place of origin, such as laksa and chicken rice. Also because of their proximity, historic migrations and close ethnic and cultural kinship, Malaysia shares culinary ties with Indonesia,[as both nations often share certain dishes, such as satay, rendang and sambal.Malaysian Indian cuisine, or the cooking of the ethnic Indian communities in Malaysia consists of adaptations of authentic dishes from India, as well as original creations inspired by the diverse food culture of Malaysia. As the vast majority of Malaysia's Indian community are mostly ethnic Tamils who are descendants of immigrants from a historical region which consists of the modern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka's Northern Province, much of Malaysian Indian cuisine is predominantly South Indian inspired in character and taste. A typical Malaysian Indian dish is likely to be redolent with curry leaves, whole and powdered spice, and contains fresh coconut in various forms. Ghee is still widely used for cooking, although vegetable oils and refined palm oils are now commonplace in home kitchens. Before a meal it is customary to wash hands as cutlery is often not used while eating, with the exception of a serving spoon for each respective dish. Food served in the traditional South Indian manner is termed banana leaf rice. Plain white or parboiled rice would be served with an assortment of vegetable preparations, lentil gravy, pickles, condiments, and papadum crackers on a banana leaf, which acts as a disposable plate. Banana leaf meals are eaten to celebrate special occasions such as festivals, birthdays, marriages, or to commemorate funeral wakes. It is customary to consume banana leaf meals by hand and to show appreciation for the food by folding the banana leaf inwards, though less ritual and etiquette is observed when the meal isn't part of a formal occasion, such as the Malayalee community's elaborate Sadya feasts. Boiled eggs, meat or seafood dishes are available at banana leaf restaurants which are not exclusively vegetarian or vegan. Some notable Malaysian Indian dishes include. Famed for its food, Penang is a food haven visited by the Malaysian locals as well as foreign tourists. Touted the food capital of Malaysia, some of the best of Penang food can be found at Gurney Drive. The popular seafront promenade offers both delightful street and high-end cuisine. At the food court, you can find local favourites such as Penang Laksa, Bak Kuk Teh (a herbal stew of pork ribs and meat), Oh Chien (fried oyster omelette), grilled squid, and nasi lemak. The food court has both a halal and non-halal section.[ In 2014, Penang was named the top food destination in the world by Robin Barton of Lonely Planet.
